Hi, I’m Maycee Hurd

I am a writing intern at ChemTalk. I am a current civil engineering graduate student at the University of New Mexico. I am passionate about chemistry as it relates to the world around us. My research interests include environmental chemistry and improving drinking water treatment units along with other environmental remediation techniques. I always knew that I enjoyed science but seeing firsthand the real-world applications of chemistry and how it is used to protect people and the environment is what really sparked my interest. At ChemTalk, I hope to help make chemistry interesting and accessible to students of all education levels.
