ChemTalk

ChemTalk Achievements

ChemTalk began with a simple goal: to reimagine how students engage with chemistry. Founded in 2021 by Scott Gietler, a chemistry enthusiast who was tutoring his son and was disheartened by outdated, inaccessible learning tools, the initiative has grown from one household to a global platform reaching millions.

Today, ChemTalk’s story is not just about where we started. It’s about the things we have done, what we will do and the communities we’ve empowered along the way. Learn more about our community, our impact and how we hope to support the future of STEM students worldwide.

Impact

In just one year, ChemTalk’s impact has grown at an extraordinary pace. Our annual website traffic has tripled, rising from 600,000 to over 1.8 million visitors, with more than 6.6 million engagement events—including article reads, interactive tool usage, and video views.

Across all platforms, we've surpassed 10 million views, and we continue to see dynamic student interaction through comments, questions, and feedback. This growing enthusiasm fuels our commitment to adapt and innovate.

Outreach

We are dedicated expanding access to inclusive STEM education through targeted outreach in under-resourced communities. We’ve engaged with schools, college prep centers, and local nonprofits (particularly in New York, Florida, and California) while building a growing national and international audience.

So far, we’ve reached over 20 schools, partnered with mission-aligned organizations, and provided free, multimedia educational content accessed by students across the U.S., India, the U.K., and beyond. We’re currently offer translated materials in languages like Spanish and Mandarin to better reach learners wherever they are.

Career Development

Interns and team members have gone on to continue their education graduate programs at Yale, Stanford, UCLA, University of Florida, and Trinity College Dublin, and more. Others have entered into professional roles at the NIH, National Parks, biopharmaceutical firms, colleges and research labs.

To us, this is living legacy and a reflection of ChemTalk's support beyond learning, to meaningful life pathways in STEM for our audience and those on our development teams.

Global Engagment

We’ve expanded our internship and leadership programs, welcoming passionate student volunteers from across the globe including South Korea, Brazil, Mexico, the United Kingdom, Canada, India and the U.S. The range of interest and engagement in our internship program reflects the universal passion for engaging, equitable science education and the determination of students who wish to support others worldwide.
